Optional display of Details Views on Master record's Form
At the moment, to add a Details View into a document template, a Details View needs to be created and associated with a Relation between the Master and Details tables. That's OK and makes sense.
The problem is that unless the Details View is displayed under the Form of the master record, it will not be added to the document template.
It would be very useful if we could check on/off whether a Details View should be displayed on the master record's Form. At the moment you switch this On or Off by selecting a Details View: if it's blank and none is selected, then no tab/list will be displayed on the Form, but neither will it be available for Document Templates!
Sometimes we need Related Lists for document templates which we don't need to display on Forms: e.g. when multiple lists filtered by different fields need to appear in a document but not in the Form.
A checkbox saying "display Details View on master record Form" would be the simplest solution.

In the same line, it would be nice to be able to use in documents fields which are not used in the subtable.

At moment, by design:
Fields shown in the subtable = fields available in documents

These two sets should not be the same. ie there are some fields that you want to show in documents that you do not want to show in subtables.

This feature would be very helpful to us as well!

@All now you can hide these detail views using "Default" form behavior.
Pierre 2/11/2022 10:39:10 AM
yes - this is great
I think we are quite a few to implement it now - it works beautifully
again thanks a lot for this

Yes, thank you Slava.
First thing I did when Kirill announced the Form Behaviour feature was to test if 'hiding' a Details View would affect the Documents where it is needed - and it doesn't!!
So it's an excellent solution for this use case: if you need to create Details Views for Document Templates, which you don't want to display on the parent record's Form, use Form Behaviour to 'hide' them.

Thank you Luison for mentioning this
I had not thought about it

oh - the feature has gone away ? (I hope it comes back soon)

Hello @Pierre,

I required this solution today and remembered something had been implemented...and I found this post.

I can assure you this function is still working 🙂

In my case, I required one details view to only show when a status was set to "Pending"...otherwise, hide the view.

So - in Form Behaviours by default, the view is 'Visible'....so I set that to 'Hidden'.
I then created a Form Behaviour rule for when "[Status] is 'pending'"...and I set the details view to 'Visible'.

I hope this makes sense

Best regards
Brett

@Pierre - No, that feature is very much still there: I use it all the time!
I have Form Behaviour Rules based on different Roles which display or hide Details Views based on the User's Role.
Example: any 'financial' details records associated with a Master record are only displayed on the Master record's Form when the user's Role is "Finance" - all other users with different Roles do not see the Financial Details Views.
It works great!

Hello @Luison and @Brett

Sorry for this delay I have been sort of away from the forum for a couple of months.

Thanks a lot for your comments - I agree with you - this feature works very well and I use it all the time.
and thanks Luison for requesting it to TeamDesk !

When I wrote my previous post, it had not been working for a day or so.
As it went back, I should have mentioned it with another post.

Kind regards,

Pierre
