you can accomplish this using a custom button and a navigation action. Create New record. Then just assign the columns one to one that you wish to be "similar"

AS A BONUS: You can make an additional TEXT column [Source] = "Copied from Record ###" You can even make a reference back if you wish.

You can replace the Form Button and Add a View button with more functionality in one go!

I tried something like that when this idea was last mooted and it just isn't quite the same as ADD SIMILAR. And, as you say, you have to code it all wheras the ADD SIMILAR functionality already exists and making it available at table level makes so much more since.

@All Alternatively please consider adding a Custom button with linked Navigate Action to the Custom URL:

<%URLRoot()%>/edit.aspx?t=<%TableId()%>&rid=<%RecordId()%>&back=<%BackURL()%>

Thanks. Can I make it navigate back to the table view automatically after saving?

Did you give it a try? I guess, it will navigate back.
Robert Gustavsson 11/14/2019 6:34:18 AM
It stays in view mode of the created record.

Please try to add &rback=1 to your URL.

Thank you Slava. Yes that sends me back to the original table view.
