No workaround in TD that I know of
Only able to do such beastly things in DbFlex 😉

In DbFlex you can create special custom actions that flow down the chain.
There is mention of TD deprecating this function in DbFlex though...but I'd actually prefer them to open it up to everyone.

Reason for not opening up for all might be that it causes 'stress' on the processing...?? Then Crash...then ughhhh...

How do you create those special custom actions in DBFlex, which are not available in TD. I always thought you could do everything the same in both

In each table in DbFlex there is accustom Actions link
All the glory is hidden in here...it comes with a warning though
Make sure you’re in a dev branch!

Under Rules. Listed like this:
Custom Actions
Custom Forms
Custom Buttons
Validation Rules
Workflow Triggers
Workflow Actions

The top one is the one you want.
Like I mentioned though, it may be deprecated, so not open to users post deprecation.

Hi Gary,

you can do this by using teamdesk API (https://teamdesk.crmdesk.com/image.aspx?mode=file&id=13254). One possible approach would be to create a custom button next to "Add simliar" that executes an API call which copies master as well as detail record using "Create" method.

@Basenine - Hi Bret, I am trying to do exactly the same as this thread: to clone a Master record with all its associated Detail records.
I've created a Custom Action in dbFlex for that purpose (Clone Master record: Clone Details), but now I can't figure out how to execute the Action. I created a new "Clone with Details" button expecting to be able to select the new Custom Action. But it is not listed there.
Any suggestions, please?
Or perhaps I should forget about the Custom Action and configure this some other way??
It's functionality that will need to be done every year for several hundred records, so it needs to be a simple process from the Users point of view.

@All forget about obsolete "Custom Actions" and use RecordSet column and workflow actions instead:
