Defaults for new users
One of my new users made the suggestion that when he signed up for my database, it would have been nice if the user preferences for language and time zone defaulted to being the same as those for the database, in my case English (Ireland) and UTC + 00:00 Dublin.

I just tested it. Whether by design or coincidence it did show English (Ireland), but for the time zone it showed UTC -12 International Date Line West

Hardly a major issue, but a small improvement for user experience

@All by design system detect user time zone and set it automatically.
There was a bug with UTC time zone detection - we've fixed it now.

Thank you

That works thank you.

It did come up with Casablanca rather than Dublin. Both are UTC+00:00 so I guess it may not be possible to differentiate, but if by some chance it is, that would be the final level of perfection.

Thanks

So far all we have is UTC offset and if multiple time zones have the same bias we simply select first one in a list.

It turns out modern browsers provide new API to return precise timezone, we hope to improve detection in a couple of weeks.
