Picking up on Brett's idea #983, but expanding it and thus giving it a new name:
I would find it useful for each database to be able to set defaults for when new columns are added. That way a development standard for a particular database could be supported. The defaults to be set would be
In general - allow add similar - allow find - include in views by default (probably the best example. This is set to Y, but I want it as N, but I can understand why others might want it as Y) - include in Forms by default (another good example. Currently it does include new columns in Forms by default and again I don't want it) - label above or beside as per Brett's suggestion
For Numeric columns - Zero values - Use digit grouping by default I always want the reverse of what is currently the default
On Lookups - Display as Link Again, by default I always want the reverse of what is currently the default
And in general for Forms whether new columns added to Forms should Force new row or not.
There may be more, but that's what springs to mind right now.
None of the above is in any way essential, but if we are having a dialogue about this kind of thing then that's my input
