I've noticed a lot of Gantt chart timelines show the label either next to the task or inside the task - making it quicker and easier to correlate what's-what. A good example of this is SG Project5 by Simple Genius: http://www.simplegeniussoftware.com/sg-project-mac-os-x.html
In it's current format, TD shows the label at the far left. This is fine for the first few tasks. But after a few tasks, where the task is pushed to the right (due to a Start Date), the ease of determining the task is lowered.
