Columns within Tables get a sort of random order now. Yes, we can reorder, but why is there no option to order them alphabetically? It makes finding fields in a long list a lot easier......

The other think you can add is a text box above the columns so you can do a type ahead.

Using Firefox you can switch on Type Ahead support. There are add ons for Chrome and Safari for this too. Just start typing and the word will be highlighted on the page

@Blake and basenine: This is true, in IE I do a search and that works too, but I still prefer a nicely ordered list.
I agree with the Order of Columns being sorted Alphabetically - at least having an option to do an easy tidy up from time to time. I think with your idea being implemented, Blake's idea would naturally follow. Cheers

@Blake - that looks nice.

@basenine: I understand. I was talking about the ordering of lists (this fieldlist is not the only place where things get messed up). The QB-example is about a good way to choose multiple options from a (long) list. In my opinion indeed a better solution than a very long list of checkboxes. It is discussed in the "Allow multiple choices in a dropdown list" idea.

I'd actually like to create sections in the Customise Columns view - like we can in the Forms Layout view. Having said that….Why have the two views anyway - can't we just create a new/delete an old/wrong column in the Forms Layout view and customise it there? Then Blake's idea will be covered too.
