| Franck Assouline 5/17/2007 2:38:10 AM Is there any possibility to hide and unhide the Views Menu on the left. I would like to give more space to the users. On this Menu We would like to colorize the different Items also.
| Ryan Van Der Vorste 5/31/2007 11:57:11 AM Hiding it would be great. I also would strongly promote the idea of having the views in a drop down list. We have about 50 views and having them all listed all the time is a bit much. -Ryan

| Matan Barnea 7/8/2007 11:11:24 AM it will be nice to change the order of the views and not have them sorted out alphabetically
| John Elcik 3/28/2008 1:42:45 PM I minimize the number of custom views by using filters instead.
| Annette Chamberlain 6/19/2008 1:31:52 PM And maybe allow for organization: into groups/sections or at least a standard reorder feature (as opposed to alphabetical only).
| Michael Rennert 5/17/2009 9:41:43 PM I agree that I drop-down of all views for the menu would be extremely useful (together with ability to show or hide sidebar).
| Liquid Rapid 7/22/2010 1:03:07 AM I like the idea of organization capabilities for views.
| Michael Ver Duin 11/21/2011 11:46:31 AM I'll add, other than sorting, be able to add a line, or text between views so you can show relations.
To keep things somewhat sorted we have views that are labeled like this: report - name1 report - name2 report - name3
it would be nice to have: Reports Name1 Name2 Name3
| Michael Ver Duin 11/21/2011 11:47:32 AM It doesn't show, but before in the second list posted above I had 3 spaces or a tab to indent the report names. Likewise, if "Reports" was bolded that would be fine too.

| gerardo garcia 2/1/2012 7:19:22 PM Have a default dashboard that shows all visible views on the sidebar.
Also be able to configure which views I want to show or hide FROM THE SIDEBAR for each of the other dashboards.
In this way if you have lots of visible views on the sidebar, you could "group" them using dashboards, kind of like using categories.
| Shem Sargent 2/1/2012 7:32:32 PM That's a good idea. I think that is good from a user's point of view too.
| Rick Cogley 2/1/2012 10:57:38 PM Oh, nice idea!
| Arnold Hakobyan 3/23/2012 3:54:17 AM Would be nice to have ability to add sections in sidebar menu. Exactly as it is in form layouts. They may have options of being collapsed or not.
| basenine 3/23/2012 5:02:40 PM |
| Arnold Hakobyan 3/26/2012 2:45:21 PM Maybe merge all three together.
| The Angel eXchange Admin 9/21/2012 3:40:40 AM Yes, please. Desmond.
| Ton Jense 3/25/2013 9:09:20 AM I agree: It should be possible to GROUP views, and to order the views within a group manually. And it would be nice if we could use colors and separation lines and maybe even icons in the list of available views.
| Dean Eberly 4/1/2013 5:38:32 PM I seems this need has appeared several times in the idea exchange and forum. I propose that the sidebar area, having such a wide use in user navigation, become fully open to customization, with at least the ability for users to choose what views they need listed. Why not make this section html capable?
reference ID's (probably more): 116, 487, 500, 546, 563, 593, 606
| Rick Cogley 4/2/2013 3:37:14 AM +1 from me. We use all kinds of funky naming to try to group views, which we have a lot of. It would be great if we had a bit more organization tools for this.
| Slava Shinderov 4/5/2013 3:40:03 AM Merged with: 145 - change VIEWS order 116 - Hide the Views Menu on the left and Colorize the items on the Menu
| Slava Shinderov 4/5/2013 3:42:41 AM Merged with: 487 - Show / hide views on sidebar, configurable by dashboards
| Slava Shinderov 4/5/2013 3:48:26 AM Merged with: 500 - Sections in sidebar
| Robert Gustavsson 6/14/2013 9:21:00 AM Is a nice idea but it's more crucial that TeamDesk implements dynamic column filters, instead of relying on the database designer to define a multitude of views, which may or may not represent how the end user really wants to view the data.
| Slava Shinderov 7/1/2013 7:52:17 AM We've added an ability to highlight views on the left sidebar with color and group them by category if needed.
| basenine 7/1/2013 7:57:18 AM Lovely. Thank you
| Arnold Hakobyan 7/2/2013 3:42:40 AM Thank you! You are a great team!
| Rick Cogley 7/2/2013 3:45:27 AM This is great, thank you very much. I tested with a category with a single view, visible to a certain role, say role A. When I switch to role B, that user cannot see the category or view at all. Nice!
| irfan 7/2/2013 8:44:27 PM Thanks a lot! Great work & of course a great team. I was waiting for this option desperately
| irfan 7/2/2013 8:48:18 PM How did you add an icon next to the Recycle bin, Can't figure out. Is there an option?
| basenine 7/2/2013 11:17:29 PM Nice, nice, nice! Tried it for the first time and this is exactly what we're were after - only it's been implemented better (of course). any news on the possibility of adjusting the size of the Sidebar and also the idea of Fixed Tab/Sidebar and scrolling Data/Views... Tabs and Sidebar to be fixed in position when scrollingAlso: Being able to do this with Dashboards would help :) Cheers |
| Slava Shinderov 7/3/2013 1:12:05 AM |
| Michael Ver Duin 7/8/2013 10:01:09 AM Just chiming in to say that this is a great implementation. It makes it so much nicer to use.
| basenine 7/15/2013 9:10:36 PM Hello all,
Is there a chance the Groups can be ordered manually please rather than defaulting to Alpha?
Kind regards - Brett
| basenine 10/28/2013 6:14:15 PM Hello,
Any news on being able to order Groups manually please
Cheers
| Slava Shinderov 10/29/2013 3:59:12 AM No, please use prefix to order "Category" as needed if alphabetical do not work for you.
| basenine 10/29/2013 4:03:48 AM No problem - will do
Cheers
