Default values in view matching
does anyone know of a way to set a default value in search criteria ?

for example I have a checkbox field in my data so contains a mix of yes and no.

I want to be able to search on yes and/or no but with the default selection on 'Yes'. Currently it defaults to 'Any' so I get results containing yes and no by default. I would like to have the filter default to Yes and the user have the option to change it by exception.

I know I can make it mandatory using Ask parameters but that frustrates the user. If there is no workaround currently, I would suggest that the ask parameter options is extended with a default value option.

thanks

Hello Nick,
I recently created a dashboard that has a view which controls the rest of the dashboard (10+ views)
I based the view on this blog post here:
https://www.teamdesk.net/blog/tips-tricks/show-available-inventory-items-within-selected-timeframe/
It’s set for the current user and a date field…
With a bit of playing around, you might be able to have this set to a text field (yes/no options)???

Otherwise, no.
I can’t see a way to default a search field

thanks Basenine. I like the idea and we already use User Properties for something similar but Im looking for a more simple solution.

I have posted an 'Idea' here - maybe you could lend your support ;-)
