System Performance / Speed - UK Specifically
Hi, Are any other UK users experiencing performance issues?

Our tech team tell me that each 'click' has to go through 14 servers before it is 'acknowledged'. We are getting time-outs now increasingly on smaller and smaller tables.

We really feel it in the performance when the US wakes up at approx 2pm GMT.

Is other one else experiencing these problems?

Thanks, Rebecca

I've had experiences of slowness when data was 'corrupt'. If you go to setup and the database table, there's a link to 'performance tips'. You may find some records that are affecting things (I had 750 records the other day that I just ended up deleting (couldn't find a hammer!!))
After they were cleared, there was noticeable speed performance on that application

How about setting up an additional teamdesk server in Europe.

Guys i was only thinking exactly the same thought as Robert yesterday. It would also get around some of the concerns with data being stored outside the EU (obviously being completely selfish to all those outside the EU and the US!)

Regarding local server(s) - it would be able to somewhat improve poor internet connection problem only, but in each particular case we need to understand the actual root cause.
Currently we've no immediate plans to move in such direction.

Looking at what actually gets sent over the network for each click, a typical Teamdesk page seems to download some 32 additional objects, of which more than half seem to be related to google/advertisement. Even if the core of the page seems to download usually in about 2 seconds for me, the additional stuff prolongs the total download time with a couple of seconds and should have little to do with poor internet connection.

I just switched off my modem and router...they'd not been switched off for over 18months. After the switch off - wait - switch on...all internet access is much speedier.

Might be worth a try...I read somewhere once that re establishing a connection back to your service provider puts you back at the "top of the list" --> whatever that means!

Hi Rebecca I am interested in your comment around 2pm as that's when we notice a slowdown here in the UK. Did you manage to alleviate the problem?
@Slava I have asked the customer to get the data that's outlined in Diagnosing Connection Problems

We are happy to report that response times have clearly improved lately.
