Inline editing on record preview page
Lets users quickly edit column values right on a record’s preview page.

Double-click any updatable column on the record preview page. The column dynamically becomes an input field and "Save", "Refresh" and "Cancel" buttons appears instead of "Edit", "Add Similar" and "Back". User may double-click several columns if needed.
Modify the values and click "Save" to commit changes - all double-clicked columns dynamically becomes read-only and record preview buttons are restored.

I think I suggested something similar regarding editing a little while ago. Sounds like an awesome idea😀

Now online - can be enabled via Setup > Database > Labs > Inline Editing On Record View Form

Excellent. Will it be available when using TD app in iPhone too?

How do I access in DBFlex. I can see it in my TeamDesk application, but not DBFlex.
Slava Shinderov  Staff  1/26/2015 9:31:10 AM
@Philipp please make sure you've enabled it in "Labs" for particular dbFLEX database and it's using new forms.

Sorry, I was unclear. I can't find the labs option in DBFlex
Slava Shinderov  Staff  1/26/2015 9:44:01 AM
@Philipp please make sure you're logged into your database under user account that you use to access dbFLEX admin.
If it's still unclear please contact dbFLEX support.

Thank you, that worked. I had assumed that any user with Setup Permission = Full Access would be able to do this

This is a really useful feature.
Sometimes you are in view mode and can easily see a column that needs changing, but when you select edit mode the column moves & you have to re-find it. This has been a problem with forms that have a lot of behaviour customisations. It is much easier now you can just double click on the target column and type away. Thank you so much!

From now inline edit should work on touch devices too.
Please tap on the "Edit" icon to activate inline edit.

Being able to quick edit per section would be handy too....ie select the 'pencil' edit from the section header and all edit fields in that section open for edit.
