here's probably why it hasn't been implemented....Kirill's comment @ the end.
Grouping by Weeks on Reports

Having said that - iso 8601 standard is week starting on a Monday, ending on a sunday.

The option for a user to set the week start day (like Google calendars does/did) would be nice. I would see this be done when we select our regional settings.

As far as I know, there are at least 3 week numbering standards, 3 options for a first day of week and a couple of weekend variants across the world. Moreover it is not yet clear should we calculate weeks according to user or application settings.

At the moment our calendar and timeline views are rendered according to user's first day of week settings so each user can see own set of data depending on what day of week is first in her country. Perhaps it is right approach for calendars/timelines but we are not quite sure about, say summary views' calculating something like "Profit this week".

@Arnold: since week has fixed duration - 7 days - you can do something like

Format(([End Date] - [Start Date]) / 7d, "#0") & " weeks"

That's what I though as well - three different standards. Then I looked into it a bit for another reason (mainly dating Folders in Explorer: They figured out that YYYY MM DD was the best solution as it made the folders line up neatly...sort of backwards to the way we say it in Australia DD MM YYYY...America is Long Date MMM DD YYYY).

I'm guessing the best work around is what I suggested in #644...Whereby you get a start day using the week day number.

It's cumbersome and all we'd really need is to select the Start Day from a list, rather than get all formula'd up.

The clearest way to accomplish this would to be able to have it as an Ask the User:
Hey - knucklehead: when you say week, what day do you want to calculate from? Then give them a list of days to select one from... Option to Filter out weekends(?) probably not necessary...

We need to be able to calculate lead times in days which exclude weekends & public holidays.

@martin - couple of workarounds using calendar table is already available as blog posts and sample apps. Integrated solution will be available as soon as we solve all the doubts about implementation details.

@Kirill Good to hear - Thanks

@Kirill, thanks, I knew the 'formula' way. It's not a necessity, just should be more convenient. Not important though.
