User Column, picker extensions
I need more flexibility in the 'User' type column. Selecting ‘User Set’ is allowing for 'Default Set' and 'Custom Set', but it needs to be extended. This should allow for a formula or at least allow for ‘All Users of the Role...’ (This should allow for multiple roles though.

Would be great if it can allow for cascading dropdown selections based on data received above.

Any flexibility when it comes to users will be welcome.

Hi Team!
Any update on the 'Under Consideration' Status yet? This will really help me a lot.

Allowing users of a role to only be able to select users of a certain role is critical to some of our applications. Manually updating the user properties table is prone to errors. This will save a lot of work for our admin.

@All we think that use of "User Property" table gives better flexibility to achieve that:
http://www.teamdesk.net/help/2.5.aspx
After creating user property table, please create one-to-many relation using particular user column as a reference column.
http://www.teamdesk.net/help/8.1.aspx
You may override default record picker for that relation:
http://www.teamdesk.net/help/8.3.aspx
and specify filter by Role and/or any other criteria you may need.
Please note that you may extend user property table with many other properties/columns (such as department, skill, etc.) and use them in filter for record pickers.

Great tip for this Slava! That's a great way to do it.

I think it's possible to create a Role dropdown next to the User selection too, and use the Role selection to filter the User list dynamically.
Liquid Rapid 9/9/2013 9:39:30 PM
Confirmed what I speculated above. It's definitely possible.

Slava's suggestion also allows you to control how the user name is displayed in the list. And to sort the list any way you want to.

That is a darn good technique. Can't believe I never thought of that before.
