Database Schema
Hi

It would be beneficial if you could download a schema which showed each table, their columns and their relationships with other tables. At present you have to track this manually.

Thanks

There is a basic schema csv file that gets created in the backup, per table, but I agree, it would be nice to be able to have this sort of information auto-documented. It is pretty typical to be asked to provide schema details to a customer, but a truly thankless job to have to create one and keep it maintained!

Actually we've a database schema diagram, but we're not satisfied with it cumbersome look so far.
If you're interesting, you can check it by manually typing schemadump.aspx page in your browser URL.

Slava

Just had a look at the schema dump. Its actually not bad.

Increasingly, being able to get an automatic or even semi automatic documentation of the system would be a huge help, especially when I bring new members onto the team. The schema together with
- each table documented for every column, trigger, workflow and access rules
- plus if possible every view, form and dashboard
- and with all of the form behaviour rules and validation rules
- every relationship with its match conditions

all in a word document would be fantastic.

I'm guessing you hold all of this information in a configuration table and that it should be possible to generate most of the above as a report.
