Auto Log out and 2-factor authentication
With databases frequently being a target for ransomeware it is very important to have the latest security procedures in place. Auto log out and 2-factor authentication are proven factors preventing hijacking of a database and protecting the information therein. Since this is not a new technology it should be fairly easy to implement.

All my most recent clients have requested this feature. We've had to resort to 3rd-party apps integrated via API.

Those are both part of Enterprise setup
Philipp Matuschka (MMB) 11/3/2021 7:26:13 AM
Can it be made available for DBFlex?
Michael Clay 11/3/2021 9:55:25 AM
It should not be necessary to pay extra for basic security safeguards.

In TeamDesk Starter/Team editions user account is the property of the user. You invite the user to your database, set user's access rights via role assignment but you do not control properties related to user's account. Since we have there both tech savvy and unexperienced users, baseline security requirements are lowered, but nothing prevents the user from creating long passwords or being automatic logged out when browser window closes (with "Keep me signed in" unchecked.

On the contrary TeamDesk Enterprise version has designated domain administrators that have full control over user accounts associated with the domain. They can also set domain-wide baseline security requirements such as password length and complexity and automatic logouts.

Hi Kirill

What about DBFlex where I have the All Users management option switched on bu I don't seem to be able to switch on 2-Factor
Michael Clay 11/4/2021 9:52:36 AM
Yes, what about dbFlex? It would be nice to be able to offer our clients enhanced security.
Scott Miller 11/4/2021 12:34:41 PM
It's there for dbFlex you can see it at the bottom of the pricing page
Michael Clay 11/4/2021 1:34:38 PM
Scott, you will have to be more specific because I don't see it on the dbFLEX Admin that I have.
Scott Miller 11/4/2021 1:43:30 PM
Michael, I am referring to the dbFlex web site and the pricing page. There is a cost associated with this option which is explained there. https://www.dbflex.net/pricing.html

@Philipp: 2FA is not implemented yet, though it's likely the next big thing we'll release.
