Transfer Record from One Database to another
Looking for some help.

I have multiple large databases that different clients use.
the different clients are supper concerned about having their own databases as to not worry about there data falling into competitors hands.

At the same time they all would like to see a stack ranking of how they compare to each other.

we have created each there own db and working great. My thought was to create a separate database that every time a deal is closed in one off the main db's it would use a call url trigger to send basic deal information to the new database. I would the create a simple view for stack rankings and allow embedding and then add to the dashboards in the main db's.

what I need help on is setting up the call url. has anyone used this to send data into a different TeamDesk DB? if so any insight on setting up would be great.

Thanks

Hi.
I am pretty sure it could be done used the API, Call URL.
but
I would start with trying Excel Power BI , it may be easier and not require a new database.

I hace used excel and great tool but here is what I am trying to accomplish.

I have multiple sales companies from around the us that sell our products.

We built the TeamDesk dB that they all use. Each company has there own dB for security as well as each dB calculates pricing and commissions different. In several cases these companies could be competing for the same customers. So we want no liability on someone seeing customer data of another company.

What they do want is to be able to publish a stack ranking of all sales reps from all over to crest some competitiveness among the reps.

So my thought was each time a deal closes have a trigger run a call url that send a select group of fields to a summary database. I could the create a simple stack ranking view and then embed that in there dashboards.

I have a temporary fix using a trigger that is sending a email to Zapier and Zapier is translating it back to the summary dB. It works but is ugly and not 100 accurate. I like the api roughy I just have not figured out how to authenticate to a TeamDesk dB from a call url in TeamDesk

Hi Mike

You can use the API to pass info from one db to another. Happy to send you a screenshot of the setup (the authorisation element on my setup is in the headers section).
