Many to Many relations
Hi

I have setup many to many relations which in my two tables "image size" and "edition structure" i can see a tab under both tables but it shoes me every scenario

I want to be able to say in the "images size" table that a particular image size belongs to a particular "editon structure" and vis versa.

I need to have many to many as each "image size" can be related to multiple edition structures and each "editon structure" can be related to multiple image sizes.

On top of this i want to add in "Prices according to 1. Edition Structure" and 2 "Image Size"

For instance

Edition Structure A

Image Size: 30 x 40 = £5,000
Image Size: 60 x 40 = £10,000

Edition Structure B

Image Size: 30 x 40 = £20,000
Image Size: 60 x 40 = £30,000

You must create a new relationship between the individual table and the table many to many.
Through lookups you can rescue the info you are looking for.

Thanks but that doesn't help.

I "think"
you need to make a slightly different type of many to many.
Use the reference button, select cardinality as many to many.

This will create a second "LINK" table. The Link table is what allows you match on to another in various ways.

Refer to our tutorial vids. Hopefully these will make things slightly less confusing.

Many-to-Many relationships are your friend.

If I'm reading your request properly, to get what you're asking you'll need an identifying column in each table. These columns will be used in the Match Conditions section of the relationship.

Eg:
In both tables, create [Structure Assignment]. Fill these with A, B, C,......to Z (obviously limited to 26 in English Alphabet....so you do like Excel and go on to AA, BB...). In the images table, every image gets assigned a [Structure Assignment] and likewise in each Edition table, a [Structure Assignment] is assigned.

Then use Match conditions to make [Structure Assignment]=[Structure Assignment].

See how that goes for you.

If you need, send me an invite to a Development Branch of your application, and I'll have a look at it for you. My email is brett@basenine.com.au...Happy to look free of charge. I will send you a price guide if it's more complex than expected 😀

Brett
