Calendar View: Enable Start and End times
Just taking a closer look at Calendar views. It seems that it is not possible to show appointments or resource bookings or similar as the Calendar view only takes account of one date and does not take account of a start date/time and an end date/time. Using the Timeline view is a kind of workaround, but doesn't really work for someone used to looking at a calendar

Could the calendar view be enhanced to support this.

Thanks

The only way I've been able to do this is to create a TimeLine view then tick the "Enable Calendar Feed". A timeline view enables you to set a DTSTART and DTEND (Via TimeStamp columns)

https://www.teamdesk.net/help/5.2.5.aspx

From here, it's a matter of getting the Calendar URL and subscribing to it.
Similar to an RSS feed as noted here:

https://www.teamdesk.net/help/5.11.aspx

Problems encountered:
Google Calendar does not REFRESH often enough (a well documented issue. The "Once Only" workaround is to put "&?noCache" at the end of the URL....this will apparently only work once (though I have not been able to get it to play well at all)). It's a major setback and even the manual REFRESH button does not work!

Lightning through Thunderbird plays ok but slow/sluggish refresh is annoying

Apple iCal (native desktop app) works perfectly and syncs with iPhone beautifully....great until you get to a company that only uses PC's.
I found that even with Subscribed URL pointed to iCloud, the subscription does not show up on the WebBased iCal version though.

Brett

Thanks for that. I'm afraid it all points to back to my original request for improvements to the calendar within TD

This needs a bump.

I know we can integrate with Google Calendar but surely a better solution is to enhance the built in calendar.
Please consider Philipp's idea with renewed interest 😀

Absolutely agree

Could really use the ability to show appointments that span multiple days.

I put in a wish with Santa 🎅 for this

Good idea! I have made a note on my calendar, as it's only 1 day it's ok ;-p
