Merging PDF function
We could do a lot with a pdf merge function, or even better, a summary pdf merge function
ie
Example 1: PDF Merge
You need to send a pdf document to a customer pages relevant for his order.
With a PDF merge function, you can automatically assemble a single document from a list of possible docs. You save lots of administrative time.

Example 2: Summary PDF Merge
A table 'OFFERS' includes customer offers
A subtable 'ITEMS' includes the items ordered by this customer, with a file attachment record including the datasheet of the item.
With a Summary PDF merge, you automatically create the single file your customer needs to see to understand your offer.

Kind regards,

Pierre

@Pierre please consider using "Documents" feature for that:
https://www.teamdesk.net/help/9.aspx
Simply use details table to generate single document from list of possible parts.

Hello Slava
I am using the 'Documents' feature which is very convenient.
But I am not sure it addresses this need.

Can you include attach pdf documents from the details table ?
Typically you build an offer (using documents) and then you want to attach the pdf data sheets made by the marketing department (these are not available in Word).

Kind regards

Pierre

Hello
I just saw two promotions of the idea
So I would like to share what I did to address this.

I am using a third party API.
There are many providers of file conversion and handling tools.
I chose convertapi.com which I have been using for almost a year.
The cost is 'second' of conversion - which is not clear. It ranges from 0,005 to 0,01 cent per conversion / assembly.

The API is with this supplier is:
https://www.convertapi.com/pdf-to-merge

Kind regards,

Pierre

Attachment of multiple documents (with conditions) would be very useful.

I agree !

What I did to address the issue:
- I included links to attachment instead of the attachment. You need to give a public access to the record to make it work
- Then I moved to Sendgrid. I first took a basic 40$/month or so subscription. Then I upgraded to a 'Pro' one, with my own sending IP address (90$/month): With the basic one, the sending address IP is shared (pooled) and messages get periodically blocked by anti spam services.
But I have clean emails; the sender is really displayed as my own company, and I can send as many attachments as needed.
