Company Logo as a Variable
It would be sensational if a Company Logo could be set in Variables as well as Resources.
You could then create a new column in a table with the Formula [Company Logo]. That could then go to ==> 'generate document template' and be used in creating documents requiring the Company Logo easily. The big benefit comes when the Company Logo gets a revamp...there's only one place to change it!

Cheers

I think you can do it without any changes in TeamDesk.

[Company Logo] formula URL could a sort of:

URLRoot() & "/res.aspx/logo.jpg"

Set its "Display As" property to "Image" and then you can use it in a document template.

Cheers - I'll give it a go and let you Know

Hello Kirill,

I can get the Logo in a column now using the above formula. It doesn't transfer to the Document though. The trouble is Field type {MERGEFIELD....

Apparently there is a {INCLUDEPICTURE... Field name but I can't get this to work either.
If anyone has any ideas to get this to work will be good - cheers

If Formula - URL has "Display As" set to "Image" we insert INCLUDEPICTURE ourselves.

Hello Kirill,

I'd set the 'Display As' to Image but the result from the Document Template is MERGEFIELD not INCLUDEPICTURE
Cheers

In the template we render it as MERGEFIELD since "Display As" property can be changed anytime. However we replace it with INCLUDEPICTURE when rendering final document.

Also, please verify the resource is marked as public.

I get two error messages when I print the doc and it opens in Word 2008 for mac.
Error 1: The Open xml File Macintosh HD:...............:Company_1.doc cannot be opene because there are problems with the contents - the file is corrupt and cannot be opened.

Error 2: Word found unreadable content in "Company-1.docx". Do you want tto recover the contents of this document? If you trust the source of this document, Click Yes...

So I clicked yes and everything shows except the Logo...

I'll send you the link in a private post ;)
