Record Count
If you summarise a column in another related table, you can get a Record Count as a value. It would be great to get the record count in the table main table...
I.e you have two tables "A" and "B".... A is related to B and you can get a summary of "A's" "Record Count" in "B"... but you can't get a "Record Count" of "B" in "B". This one little feature would help with averages in reports - say "Average Sales amounts/per Month".

I know the record count is somewhere in there behind the scenes as you can do a chart report and select "Record Count" and group it by month. What we'd need though is one step further where you can select the $ figure, divide it by the "Record Count" and then group by month.
Cheers

You can actually count the records from B into a field in A and then do a lookup from table B back to the field in A thus giving you the record count of B in B. Slightly clumsy, but it works and I have done it in a number of cases where I need information baout table B in table B

Hello Phillipp,

Yep - I knew I could do that... like you say though - clunky. If you go into Setup and create a new chart, there is reference to a record count in the working table. So I know it's possible - it just needs to be opened up in other areas.

Thanks for taking the time to help out though - best wishes - Brett

Thanks for the tip on how this could be done. I would like to see this implemented too.
