It would be very useful to be able to archive the status of an application, including data, at periodic intervals. For example: save the application every n months (or years), including the data of the previous n months (or years). The purpose is to have "historical" data readily available in the archive, but to work with a more manageable amount of data, as neededn, in the currently active version.
